General Information

The Andy's Music Home School Music Program offers vocal and instrumental programs designed to provide home school students with the experience and benefits of participating in band and chorus. Our programs are modeled after successful school programs, and the band instrumentation includes woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Two concerts will be held during the school year for family and friends. Classes meet once a week for an hour and follow our Home School Lesson Calendar.

Each class is an eight month commitment and tuition is $49 per month. A one-time payment of $392 may be made or Andy's will bill your credit card, debit card or checking account each month starting in September. To participate, please print, complete and return the Home School Registration Form to reserve your spot. There is no registration fee for Home School Choir or Home School Band.

A supplies list will be provided and students should purchase the necessary books and materials before the start of class. Band students must also provide their own instrument. If you need an instrument, you may rent or purchase one from Andy's. Click here to learn more about our rental program.

Can't get enough music?!? Consider taking additional private vocal, woodwind, or brasswind lessons at the reduced rate of $69 while enrolled in our Home School Music Program.

Choir

Home School Choir is open to home school students in grades 5-12 who are interested in singing. Students will learn vocal mechanics, vocal exercises, breathing techniques, part singing, rhythm and counting, sight singing, and proper performance posture.

Depending on experience, students may enroll in one of the following classes based upon availability.

First Year Choir
Students with no prior experience or very little vocal training. (Starting Oct. 2011)

Second Year Choir
Students who have successfully completed First Year Choir, had private lessons for at least six months or by permission of the instructor. (Starting Oct. 2011 depending on class size)

Third Year Choir
Students who have successfully completed Second Year Choir, had private lessons for at least a year or by permission of the instructor.

Band

Home School Band is open to home school students in grades 5-12 who are interested in playing woodwinds, brass or percussion. Students will learn music theory, general musicianship, proper posture and instrument position, instrument care and maintenance, and how to play with a band.

Depending on experience, students may enroll in one of the following classes based upon availability.

First Year Band
Students with no prior experience or very little experience playing a woodwind, brasswind or percussion instrument. (Starting Oct. 2011)

Second Year Band
Students who have successfully completed First Year Band, had private lessons for at least six months or by permission of the instructor.

Third Year Band
Students who have successfully completed Second Year Band, had private lessons for at least a year or by permission of the instructor.

**Please attend our 'Meet & Greet' with Mr. Porter on Friday, Sept. 16 at 1:15PM. We will also have staff available to assist students in trying out different instruments to determine which instrument they are most suited to play. Students may also register at this event if they haven't already done so.
