The VOX AC30VR combo guitar amp lets you channel switch between legendary VOX tones and higher gain modern tones, all powered by Valve Reactor tube technology. Tube and solid-state, vintage and modern, clean and dirty – it's all there.
The VOX Valve Reactor circuit puts a 12AX7 vacuum tube into the power stage of the amp, rather than the preamp like some amp manufacturers. Too small to be used as an amplifier on its own, the output of the Valve Reactor circuit is fed to a high-quality solid state power amp. This amplifier has some special circuits that feed the changing loudspeaker impedance information back to the Valve Reactor. This interaction of tube, amp, and speaker provides the lively sound and feel that defines an all tube amplifier.
The AC30VR uses an "old-school" split-panel design that offers two distinct channels, Normal and Overdrive. The Overdrive channel adds a separate Gain knob, and the Style button delivers two distinctive tones.
The AC30VR features two custom-designed 12" Celestion speakers, and delivers 30 "British" watts of power. The Normal channel offers both Bass and Treble tone controls, along with a single Volume knob. A Gain knob has been added to the Overdrive channel, as well as a Middle control for more defined tone shaping. In the Master section, the AC30VR features VOX's unique Tone Cut circuit knob for dampening the high-end frequencies. Master Reverb and Master Volume controls are also provided.
The back panel features an external speaker jack for an 8 ohm extension cabinet, and a jack for the optional VOX VFS2 dual footswitch, which offers channel-switching and reverb on/off action.
