When the Yamaha BB series basses were introduced in 1977, they were an instant hit with local players. The quality, build and sound were excellent, and the price - an affordable $625.00 with case for the BB-800 - had some folks talking. Oh how we long for the "good 'ol days".
While the original BB Yamaha basses started the heritage, the new BB424X carries on with the same quality and sound Yamaha basses are noted for. In case you hadn't noticed, Yamaha BB series basses have been used by great players like Nathan East, Tony Kanal, Michael Anthony, and Lee Sklar.
While the body of the BB424X is inherited from Yamaha's original BB basses, the neck is positioned 5mm deeper into the body, creating a more rigid design that improves sound and attack. The ceramic magnet pichups produce high power output with a clear tone. The split pickup in the neck position provdies double the volume of conventional pickups of this type, and the front position pickup delivers powerful, but clear bass.
If you've always wanted to buy a professional bass guitar at a non-professional price, check out the new Yamaha BB424X, it's the real deal!
