This instrument is one of the highlights of our collection. It is a Khandarbani style rudra veena, crafted by Murari Adhikari of KanaiLal and Bros. It is made out of a select piece of teak, and also has really finely carved ebony pegs. The tumbas on this veena are great, the size is just right and they provide a good amount of volume. A feature on this instrument I like is the chikari posts shaped like hands, also the profile of the frets is very elegent. A trademark of KanaiLal, the carved swan is executed very nicely on this veena. I think almost every veena based on a KanaiLal will feature.
