This veena instantly lets you know it is a KanaiLal, and not just any one. This style of veena was developed by the Late Z.M. Dagar, in fact this particular instrument was built for one of his students in the 70's.
This is probably the fanciest carved swan I have set my eyes upon. It even features carved bone legs, and wing shaped bridges for the chikari strings.

The serpent on this veena is very whimsical, I am not sure what the significance is, but it reads very effectively from a distance.

The undersides of this tumba are beautifully carved, it's amazing to see the amount of detail that goes into these instrument.
