Sarswati Vina The saraswati veena is the main melodic instrument in Karnatak music, which is the form of music in South India. The most unusual thing about this veena is how simple the main part is, normally this would be full of pen engraved plastic. Also note the brass ghoraj, typical of Saraswati veena. This is perhaps the most effectively carved dragon I have seen on any instrument, I wish such a level of quality could be seen on today's veena. The carving on the back is done more in the style of what would be found on the Karnatik tanpura, it's very nice to see it here.
