Sarinda This instrument is very old and comes from Afaganastan where its still played to this day My estimation is that this sarinda is at least 100 years old, the condition is however is remarkable, and it would be easy to make this a playable instrument. If you look closely at the profile, it is shaped like an elephant. This design can also be seen in the Nepalese sarangi. Although hard to see in the photo, there are little bits of silver inlayed into the body of this instrument, it gives a shimmering effect from a distance.
