Strings for Beans

Strings for Beans
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Andy’s Music and D’Addario Strings have teamed up to stock the food pantry at Penelope House.

On Saturday, October 16, 2010, bring us some canned goods for Penelope House, and we’ll restring your guitar for FREE.

The fine print:  This offer is limited to one 6-string guitar per customer – no tremolo systems. Acoustic guitars will be strung with D’Addario EJ16’s,  and electric guitars EXL110’s.

Penelope House is a non-profit organization established in 1979 by the Daughters of Penelope to help victims of domestic violence regain social and economic independence. The Family Violence Center is the only shelter for battered women and children in Mobile, Alabama, although services currently span across Mobile and Washington counties in Alabama.

Services offered by Penelope House include advocacy, community education, counseling, on-site medical care, schools prevention education, transitional living, and victims’ support groups.

In addition to its services, a 24-hour crisis line (251) 342-8994 was established by Penelope House to provide prompt counseling, information and referral services to individuals in abusive and/or violent situations.

Yamaha Tyros 4

September 17, 2010 – Yamaha has just announced the new Tyros 4 Arranger Workstation professional keyboard. The Tyros family is in its fourth generation, and the new Tyros 4 retains its ease of use, ergonomic panel layout and playability, and has an even greater variety of Voices, Styles, and sophisticated features.

According to Yamaha, the Tyros 4 sound is better than ever. More natural, more authentic, and exceptionally expressive. It’s a difference you can instantly hear—one that inspires you to new creative heights and lets you play your dream!

Powered by the latest sound technologies, including Super Articulation, the Tyros4 has a wealth of amazingly authentic and naturally expressive Voices. The sound is so real—right down to the performance techniques—it truly makes your playing come alive!

The Tyros4 provides 993 dynamic, realistic Voices, giving you instant access to virtually every instrument in the real world. In addition to the Super Articulation Voices, Live!, Cool! and Sweet!
