The Cordoba 45CO Spanish classical guitar is made in Spain and features Spanish craftsmanship combined with some of the world's finest exotic tonewoods.
Cocobolo is the tonewood of choice for the back and sides of the Cordoba 45CO. It is a Central American rosewood known for its wide tonal range and eye-catching beauty. In combination with the fan-braced solid western red cedar top, cocobolo produces a full and balanced tone suitable for many playing styles.
The 45CO’s Spanish cedar neck is joined to the body using the Spanish heel construction method. In this style of construction, the neck is notched at the heel to receive the sides, and the body is built around the neck and side assembly. This procedure provides a very solid joint between the neck and body and produces optimal resonance and stability.
Important features include African ebony fingerboard, Indian rosewood bridge, body binding, and headplate, and a Spanish-style hand-inlaid mosaic rosette, a dual-action truss rod, gold-plated tuning machines, bone nut and saddle, and premium Savarez strings. The 45CO ships in a humidified Humicase Protege case.
The back and sides of the 45CO are exotic cocobolo, which varies greatly in appearance and grain pattern. Every guitar is different, so the one you receive will be one-of-a-kind in appearance.
