The Guild D-240E dreadnought acoustic electric guitar is part of the Westerly Collection, which pays tribute to Guilds' past guitar manufacturing excellence and build quality. The D240E has traditional design and tone, with a solid spruce top, and mahogany back and sides.
A slight arch on the back, reminiscent of Guild guitars of golden era, prevents the need for the added support of back braces, reduces weight, and increases projection and volume. The full-bodied, powerful tone of this guitar provides you with a classic acoustic sound and balanced voicing.
The factory setup of the D-240E is well done, and the guitar plays and frets very easily. The back of the neck has a matte finish (as does the body), and allows your hand to move freely and easily. It feels very good.
The AP-1 active pickup has two controls in the sound hole labeled volume and bass. They’re easy to reach, and make volume and tone changes a quick and easy task. The input jack is conveniently located in the end pin.
This Guild D-240 acoustic electric guitar is an instrument reminiscent of decade’s old guitar making, and it looks, feels, and plays that way. If you’re looking for a guitar with the vintage vibe and great value, you won’t be disappointed with this guitar.
