The Takamine EF341SC acoustic-electric guitar is part of the Pro Series and is handcrafted in Japan by skilled craftsman. It's built on the foundation of the Takamine brand; it plays, sounds and looks the part of a handcrafted instrument.
It features a cutaway dreadnought body with a solid Cedar top and laminated Maple back and sides. The traditional feel Mahogany neck has a 20 fret bound Rosewood fingerboard with delicate snowflake inlays, and the 12”-radius provides a comfortable feel with easy and accurate fretting. The solid Cedar top in combination with Maple back and sides produces a warm, mellow tone, but can handle power chords with equal agility.
Electronics in the EF341SC include a Takamine CT4BII preamp with built-in tuner and Palathetic pickup. Available controls include volume, three-band EQ, mid contour switch, notch filter, and EQ bypass. The 3 band equalization provides control over the bass, midrange and treble frequencies. The tuner on/off button also acts as a mute switch for onstage use and turns off automatically after a few minutes.
The Takamine Palathetic pickup uses six individually shielded piezo-electric elements, one for each string. These six elements make direct contact with the saddle creating a sonic connection with the string, resulting in a sound with rich harmonics and authentic acoustic guitar tone. The Palathetic pickup system is one of the many reasons professionals play Takamine guitars.
The neck on the EF341SC has an asymmetrical C shape, with a contour slightly thinner on the bass side so that it fits the natural shape of your hand. It’s thin from front to back and medium in width, with a gentle fingerboard arch. The X braced solid Cedar top is voiced by hand, which can make a significant difference in volume, balance, and tone.
