The PRS SE Custom 24-08 guitar is an all-mahogany-body guitar that boasts powerful humbucking and true single-coil tones in one instrument. The name is derived from the fact that it is a 24-fret guitar with eight possible pickup combinations.
The PRS TCI “S” pickups in the SE Custom 24-08 have a pure vintage voice with beautiful clarity and balance. The pickups are paired with a 3-way toggle switch and two mini-toggle coil-split switches that individually split the humbuckers into true single coils for a total of eight pickup configurations.
The switching system in this SE Custom 24-08 originated in a private stock model and eventually worked its way to the PRS SE model. This combination of pickups and switches is very versatile and allows you to have eight different sounds. Watch the attached video for a thorough explanation.
Thanks to the 24-fret neck, you have two full octaves to play with. Additional features include a 25” scale length rosewood fretboard and a wide thin maple neck, PRS patented, molded tremolo, and a beautifully figured Maple top with a shallow violin top carve.
