The new 2023 PRS SE Silver Sky maple fretboard electric guitar is the latest addition to the very popular SE Series. It boasts an all-new maple fingerboard and new finishes, including Nylon Blue and Overland Gray.
Except for the maple fingerboard and new colors, the specifications are the same as the original Silver Sky SE, including the revered velvety smooth and easy-to-play PRS neck profile and the celebrated 645JM “S” pickups.
The Silver Sky SE comprises a poplar body, bolt-on satin-finished maple neck, and maple fretboard with PRS trademark bird inlays. The 22-fret, 25.5” scale length neck features the original 635JM carve and 8.5” fretboard radius, which makes the John Mayer Silver Sky SE feel so comfortable and familiar.
A trio of 635JM "S" PRS Silver Sky SE pickups delivers an open and airy single coil tone with a musical high-end that is never harsh or unmusical. Paul Reed Smith and John Mayer designed the pickups and the controls include a single volume control with two tone controls, plus the time-honored five-way pickup switch.
Other important features of the PRS SE Silver Sky maple fretboard guitar include a two-point steel tremolo, synthetic bone nut, vintage-style tuners, PRS Silver Sky inverted headstock shape, PRS double-acting truss rod, and a PRS padded gig bag.
