The Yamaha YFL-677HCT flute is a professional open-hole model that features many of the same high-end elements found in Yamaha’s handmade flutes. Designed for advanced players, it delivers a rich, expressive tone across a wide dynamic range. The YFL-677HCT combines the strength and brilliance of nickel silver with the warm, mellow resonance of sterling silver, offering exceptional tonal versatility and performance.
The hand-finished headjoint on this Yamaha flute is based on Yamaha Handmade Flute’s Type A design. It provides a wider expressive range, easier response, and excellent balance over the instrument’s entire range.
The Straubinger Phoenix pads on the YFL-677HCT enable you to play with a softer touch while providing a more precise and consistent seal, superior response, a wide dynamic range, and longer life before adjustment.
Acoustic Annealing
The headjoint, body, and footjoint of the YFL677 are heat-treated through an annealing process that allows the instrument to vibrate more freely, providing optimal response and beautiful resonance.
Key Design
The keys are hand-assembled and meticulously balanced for a perfect touch. The key shapes have been so exquisitely designed and ergonomically placed that the flute will almost ‘disappear’ in your hands. Performances will feel effortless and natural.
Pointed Key Arms
A#, F#, and other non-fingered keys feature pointed key arms, similar to those found on Handmade Flutes. Their beautiful designs are inspired by traditional European styling.

- 0.43mm wall thickness provides excellent balance and a warm, beautiful sound
- The pinless left-hand key system improves high F-F# key operation and minimizes maintenance
- Offset G for a natural feel
