The PRS SE Silver Sky guitar has maintained the design aesthetic, tone, and feel of the original Silver Sky core model and is much more affordable than the core model.
Here’s what John Mayer had to say about his new SE Silver Sky. "The SE Silver Sky nails, I think, the sound and feel of the Silver Sky core model. It's more affordable, and therefore more accessible...and doesn't penalize you for not having the core U.S. model.”
As John Mayer mentioned in his statement above, the 635JM "S'' single-coil pickups were painstakingly designed to produce the tone of the original core Silver Sky. They have the same round, full tone with musical high end that helps make the core Silver Sky so popular.
Other features include a two-point steel tremolo, synthetic bone nut, and vintage-style tuners, PRS Silver Sky inverted headstock shape, and the PRS double-acting truss rod. The SE Silver Sky ships with PRS Classic 10-46 strings and a PRS SE gig bag.
